Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) is a commonly used solution in the cell culture manufacturing process and in the early stages of process development. It helps to maintain the pH of cell culture media by acting as a buffer. PBS can be used for various purposes, such as washing cells, transporting cells or tissue, diluting cells for counting, and preparing reagents. It is formulated without calcium and magnesium. Hygia’s balanced salt solutions are produced in a cGMP-compliant facility and are filtered through a 0.1 ?m sterile filter before being aseptically filled in a FFU with 100 stages. One-step Rapid SDS-PAGE Gel Staining Solution, 100mL
1 Description One-step Rapid Gel Staining Solution is a ready-to-use, single step, and highly sensitive protein gel staining solution. It produces fast protein staining in a single step without fixation or washing. In addition to rapid results and simple staining, our one-step rapid gel staining solution offers safer handling and disposal compared to traditional formulation as it is aqueous based, without hazardous methanol or acetic acid. 2 Our advantage: • Fast, one-step • Sensitive with low background • Non-toxic, easy disposal • No stinky acetic acid • No toxic methanol • No gel shrinkage • No microwaving • No destaining • No fixing 3 Protocols The following protocol is optimized for ~ 8 cm x 8 cm SDS-PAGE mini gels. 1. Staining: a. Mix well before use by inverting the bottle several times. b. Rinse the gel with water for ~20 seconds to remove the running buffer from the gel. c. Place the gel in a clean container containing ~25ml one-step rapid gel staining solution per mini-gel, or enough to submerge the gel. d. Bands will start to appear in 2 minutes, depending on the amount of protein sample present. If increased sensitivity is required, incubate the gel with gentle shaking until bands are visualized. Note: 1) Blue particulates may be seen in the solution, which is normal and will not negatively affect results. 2) The gel can be left in the staining solution overnight without over staining. 3) For larger gels or multiple gels, scale up the volume of staining solution accordingly, or use enough solution to cover the gels. 4) The solution can be reused. 2. Destaining(optional) Destaining is not required but can be done to reduce background. Gels can be destained in water for one hour to overnight with gentle shaking. 4 Disposal: One-step rapid gel staining solution is an aqueous based solution uniquely formulated using chemicals that qualify as food ingredients that can be disposed down the drain. It does not contain methanol and is classified as non-hazardous to the environment. However, the solution is acidic and must be neutralized before drain disposal. To neutralize, add 7.5 mg sodium hydroxide per staining solution and dissolve completely. Other basic neutralizers may be used to adjust the solution to disposable level. 5 Storage This product can be stored in room temperature for up to 1 year. Protect from light.
